Sorry this will not be a SALTZMAN photo tour, but some select shots I took at Hyde Park included below.  Enjoy!

Club from across the 17th / 18th holes

Par-3 3rd from elevated tee box

Par-3 3rd from green looking back up towards tee box

Par-4 4th from green looking back downhill towards fairway

Par-5 5th from elevated tee box

Par-5 6th from approach shot to green

Par-5 6th from way left about 80-yards from green

Par-3 7th with a shot trying to capture the scale of the hillside and mammoth trees behind the green site

Said large tree behind 7th green / near 8th tee

Double swale at par-3 12th...man are those things D.E.E.P.!

Current par-3 15th hole...please membership, agree to turn this into a "short"!

For anyone interested in sending thank you notes to the Clovernook staff, find info below:

Bob Harrison, Head Golf Professional Emeritus - cclovernook@cinci.rr.com

Bob Shetter, Superintendent - rshetter@cinci.rr.com

Mike Meckes, General Manager - mmeckes@cinci.rr.com (A lot of you may only have met Mike very briefly, but he worked tirelessly to make sure that the green blueprints and old photos were pulled and also did all the logistical arrangements to ensure we had caddies available and things like that)

You can send regular mail to everyone c/o Clovernook Country Club
2035 W Galbraith Rd
Cincinnati, OH 45239

I've heard a tremendous amount of feedback this week, not just from Mike and The Bobs, but also from members and our other golf pros at Clovernook. The outing got quite a bit of publicity at the club and the membership and staff was really happy to have our group. Everyone that interacted with a GCA'er has been very complimentary about the knowledge our group had of architecture history and of Langford and Moreau as well. It's also raised awareness among the membership of some of the design philosophies at work on the course. I've gotten lots of questions about what our group thought of the course, and many members seem really interested in learning more about architecture. It's pretty exciting.

Jason,

That sounds like a great reaction from the membership. Like many of life's situations, sometimes it takes a little appreciation from an outsider(s) to open our eyes a bit. Do you think the renewed interest will lead to any reclamation projects at the club?

Better yet, maybe you could lead some of your fellow members on a kind of L&M appreciation odyssey. Head over to Harrison Hills, up to Spring Valley and eventually to the grand-daddy in Green Lake. If you were to do this though, I would recommend growing a tremendous beard, preferably in salt and pepper tones.

This is really great.  I am so glad to hear it.  It is nice to know that the club, course, and membership may benefit in some way from our get-together.  Harrison Hills and Lawsonia were both already high on my must-see list, but moved up as a result of seeing Clovernook.
