Martin Bonnar aka FBD is your best bet on the artistic stuff.

I am planning a visit to St Andrews and East Lothian next May with my son David.  Can't wait.  You and Joseph will have a ball, play well, have fun.  Be sure to cruise down North St to the cathedral and back past the castle on the Scores.  Great ruins in St A!

Joe,

Wonderful to hear about your visit next week, and your timing is impeccable. With the good spell of weather we've had, the courses are running fast and firm so you should get a true links experience.
Anyway, I hope this doesn't appear to be opportunistic, but I have just launched a series of greetings cards featuring some of my golf photography. You can buy the A5 cards from various outlets, including the British Golf Museum which is located behind the R&A (and well worth a visit if you have time).
If you spot them, let me know what you think.
Enjoy.

Joe,

Near the end of our year in St Andrews we visited the local art show and chose an artist we liked.  We commisioned a piece from her in pastels and have it hanging on our lounge room wall. I think it was around 400gbp in 2007.

Her name is Mhairi Lafferty. She doesn't live in St Andrews but a small town nearby. Auchtermuchty I think

The above site also includes a few others in the St Andrews area.

And Alan Robertson nearby, still pissed off about Old Tom playing a gutty!

Just got back today, a visit and drink with Old Tom is a must. As is a midday pint at  The Jigger Inn. Very neat watching first timers look for their drives on 17.
We have a pool and a pond, the pond would be good for you.

Joe, I've got a time as a single at 11 on Wednesday at TOC. Stealing away a round on a family vacation.
