I just don't think slow play at the US Open is going anywhere.

I'll go one step further.  Slow play isn't going anywhere on the Tour, unless penalty shots are applied.

I thought the pace seemed somewhat better today. I think 4 hours was the norm. The final group started at 3:20 and was finished almost precisely 4 hours later. If we criticize slow play, we should acknowledge some degree of improvement. Yes, it should be the norm, but, as Dr. Leo Marvin and Bob Wiley said, baby steps...

Particularly in the US Open, I think 4 hours is unheard of, unfortunately.

How in the hell were they supposed to finish in four hours the first three days when tee times were going off 1 and 11 over a 2:30 window?
