Geoff Shackelford has an article up about the current President of Royal Sydney GC being named the new Captain of the Royal & Ancient at St. Andrews... some joking about the fact he is
not Peter Dawson's long-lost antipodean relative.
http://bit.ly/10v87HiMet the guy once or twice as he followed my godfather as the Captain down at Rose Bay... seemed like a nice enough bloke who was the CEO at Arnott's for quite awhile. He once called me a pervert for running a fake Valentine's Day personals ad for Tim Tams that started "Hot chocolate lover... 2 inches long, but able to satisfy any woman..." but that's another story altogether.
Does this the Captain of the Royal and Ancient Club have any actual power? I assume since Prince Andrew held it once, it must be a mainly ceremonial position.
