Interesting that there is so little difference between 2nd, 3rd and 4th places on the Modern list ... it could be fairly said that no consensus has formed yet on how those three should be ordered.

Still, it's more amazing to me to look at the classic list, and see a single architect built the #1, #2, #3, and #4 courses in Canada ... and #7 and #8 for good measure!  There are not many countries in the world where one architect so dominates a list of the top ten.

A good bit of Stasch Thompson's work was funded by Canadian Railroad, no? That reputation-builder probably led to many of the private-club contracts.
