Never have actually caddied, although I took a caddie training program one year in HS but another job summer job came up.

Play 100ish rounds per year.

Caddie maybe 20-25.

Take them at home and away (cart or caddie mandatory on weekend mornings at Tedesco in season).

A few stated on the other thread how they would like to be able to walk and carry on weekend mornings instead of mandatory cart or caddie.  Coming from a club that has that rule in place, I like it.  Our caddies are 95%+ younger than college seniors, so our program is really a grow-the-game thing for young players.  The fees are modest, and those wanting to save can take a cart for $17 to avoid the $25-30 minumum caddie payment for the younger caddies (bag-room level guys make $40-50).  I may feel different if all of our caddies were older pro jocks just trying to finance their next gambling debt...but I never want to leave a kid on the pine who just wants to loop to make a few bucks and play our course the next Monday just to save $25.
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

I'm not a member at a club with a caddy program.  The only times I take them is when I am a guest at a club with a program.  I don't go to too many of those clubs.

8.  If you do use caddies, is it generally at your home course, while playing an away game, or both:  A

Sorry, but only caddied three times.
Twice for Hal Sutton in The Open and same venue for a buddy of mine...does that count?

Caddied before going to college: YES  Years: 3
Caddied during college: NO  Years: N/A
Caddied after college: NO Years: N/A
Highest rank achieved as a caddie: N/A (middle of the pack)
Received a caddie scholarship: NO
Number of rounds you play a year: ~60
Number you play with a caddie: ~6
If you do use caddies, is it generally at your home course, while playing an away game, or both:  AWAY (historically)

Typically only had a caddie when visiting clubs with programs - ~10% of rounds last year.

Joined club last year that has junior caddie program (call ahead only - few/no standby guys in a yard/shack), so eager to use caddies at home this season as well.  Our club does allow us to walk and carry at any time (one of the major draws for me, besides quality of course, etc), and I expect a majority of my rounds will still be carrying my own.

7.  Number you play with a caddie:  about 8  or 9
8.  If you do use caddies, is it generally at your home course, while playing an away game, or both:  [H/A/B]  AWAY       at other clubs, although I will engage my son to caddie for me at home on occasion.

I caddied mostly at my home club - Springdale, in Princeton, NJ  which no longer has a caddie program.  Bill Campbell - Pres of USGA, US Amatuer winner, 2x Sr Amatuer champ and first Captain of the R & A from the US was the most famous golfer that I caddied for.   Also caddied for two Governors of NJ.

It would be great to have caddies again at  Springdale, I may try to install a “caddies on call” type of program.   Most members do not want to spend the money to take caddies regularly.
