On the subject of firmness. A public course that's designed and presented to play this way, in America, would quickly heed the wails of the "market" and soften their canvas to the point of an Un-repaired ballmark city hell.
Appreciate that Australians have a deeper respect for the Sport of Golf. Their steadfastness, not caving on principles, must be at that root.
