Pete Dye has a statue in his honor – at the entrance to the Teeth of the Dog.

I believe there is one of Pete at his course at French Lick, along with a few prize horse statues.

Along with a plaque with a quote from Pete:  "Golf is not a fair game, so why build a fair golf course?"
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

Doesn't look like Pete at all.  I've seen him at work dozens of times here at The Ocean Course and never once has he had any sort of "plans" rolled up and tucked under his arm.  I've mostly seen him walking around and feeling the contours of the land under his feet.  He'll then come to a decision and tell it to one of his people....

I'm sure this wasn't exactly Pete's idea. Not his style at all.

I worked at The Dye in French Lick. Pete Dye doesn't even like these statues...he is a little embarrassed by them. Pretty sure at 87, the last thing he is worried about is promoting himself and his work. His body of work pretty much speaks for itself.

When I asked him about this statue, his reply was: "I was never this tall and I'm pretty sure I was never this tan" (said with a little smirk)

IMO, the only thing wrong about the statue is the length of his pants...I don't think I have ever seen Pete with pants that touch his shoes!!!
