My favorite golf course name, Settler's Ghost, popped up again today for some reason (http://www.settlersghost.com/).

For our northern brethren, what's your take on golf in the Barrie area? We used to play our girls' league championship at Tangle Creek, but moved to Woodington Lakes (a claustrophobic course if ever there was one) last year.

Ron, not good.

There are the two courses at Horseshoe Resort.

Tangle Creek is probably your best bet.

If there is any interest in GCA, Allandale is a pretty cool 9-hole Stanley Thompson design near there... http://onegolferstravels.blogspot.ca/2012/06/allandale-golf-course-review.html

Hawk Ridge has two courses, 25 minutes north in Orillia.

Barrie CC and National Pines are both private and worth playing.

Ron - I don't get to Barrie very often anymore, but is there a reason you head there, specifically? If not, closer to you (i.e south of Barrie, and a little east or west) a whole bunch of options open up, e.g. the 3 courses at Osprey Valley come to mind immediately, our own Ian Andrew (when he was with Doug Carrick) doing the Heathland course, but the other two (Hoot and Toot) are good to.
