Jamie, We may have to play Friday and Sunday. Let those other guys play sat while we are at the game. I am hoping ESPN will rescue us and let golf be played sat AM and run to the game afterwards. It is about a 4 hour drive from Atlanta and 2.5 from Cuscowilla. Plus how much can a charter to Columbia from Reynolds Plantation be anyway if the timing is close. I have done the train behind the stadium deal before so just watching my Tigers make Holtz wish he was in another conference(say 40 zip) is enough for me.

Sounds like she is getting a fair shake to me. You have her ahead of dancers and drinking.

(Golf and UT football were first, then wife) Ahead of drinking?  What do you think golf and football are?
 ;D

After golf is much preferred over during, IMO, only unless it's a rec-type scramble.

Tiger - It was an exciting game last year at least the first half, then your tigers rolled over them.  I knew they were in trouble when they didn't have a bigger lead at halftime after really outplaying your Tigers in the first half.

ESPN should pick it up, they did last year and it was a night game.  A 7pm start would be perfect.  Playing in Aiken or even the Columbia area is another option, then we're really close.  I hear the University club is decent.  We have to of course build in at least 3 hours of tailgating!

Carlyle,
I'm in for Oct. 18. Let us know the details as things shape up. Thanks for your efforts in advance.

I had no idea that so many seemingly normal people are football fanatics. ;D

Ed,

I have 4 season tix to VT football, but the dates I first suggested don't conflict (away and open date).   ;D

Scott,
You seemed sort of normal, in spite of your whirlwind trip in the northeast last summer, which was worthy of admiration.  ;)But four tix to VT football?!!! There are only four people in your family and one of them isn't crawling yet.  :o No wonder the fans are so rabid, they are started in the womb.

Glad to hear the football allows time for golf, see you in GA. :)

I'll take the redanman putter!  Those west coasters play those prissy little courses anyway, let them try Shinnecock or Bethpage Black!  ;D

Just got an e-mail from Cuscowilla.  The course will be closed the weekend of October 18th for a tournament.  (They didn't say which tournament.)  :(

Aerating
« Reply #63 on: May 13, 2003, 08:13:16 PM »
All the greens are being aerified at Cuscowilla on September 22 and 23.  They said it usually takes two weeks to return to normal, so September 27 looks like a lousy date after all.

It seems like the trip may be doomed.

Carlyle,
Given that the New Mexico gathering has come up in the meantime in Sept why don't you see if late Oct/early Nov will work. I still would like to see Cuscowilla this year.

Host an East Coast "King's Putter" to be played at Shinnecock and Bethpage, and I'll be the first to book my plane ticket.  Please let me know when you have the date set.  ;)

Cheers,
Brad

Carlyle have you checked to see if we can play Cuscowilla on Monday. We can play in Atlanta over the weekend of the 18th.

Alas, if it's October 18th I'm out.  I have reservations at the Dunvegan Hotel beginning the 19th ;D

JB, have you heard they're replacing the checkerboard end-zones in Neyland Stadium with CARDBOARD?  Seems the Vols always look better on paper.
