Tom Doak,

I stated, "where there's a will and a budget, there's a way.

A century later, I won't say that there's a homgenization of memberships, but, the financials of those clubs today, aren't that different from many of their local peers.

Hmmm,

I’m often been confronted by Health and Safety and the dangers of certain aspects of maintenance, but avoiding the design of a steep bank in case the maintenance crew might lose a toe, is a new one for me.

I’ve had to design a special “flip up” fence in front of a Tee on top of a high wall before -  not for the safety of the golfers - but so the maintenance staff can flip up the fence and mow it without the danger of accidently falling off the top of the wall. When they’re finished it is flipped down so the golfers can play without the fence in front of them.

Of course in the 3 years the course has been in operation the maintenance staff have never flipped up the fence when they’re working!!!
