Played there 2 weeks ago with Ryan. Would like to go back again - walking only

Stayed at Lakeland Terrace Hotel which is just fine - 1/2 hour north and nice town
Haven't played since yesterday, not playing until tomorrow, hardly playing at all!

I would absolutely be in as well. i have heard so many good things about the 'song and I do not have time to make it there this year, but i will clear out space now for this trip next year.

Howard, let me know if you want any help in planning. I will be glad to lend you a hand in any way you need.

Interested. I like the home rental idea.
No need to stick around the resort if it's dark by 6 pm. (Jan or Feb)
Not sure if I am up to spending 12 hours flying out again, but folks should not miss this opportunity.

Richard, now you know how all of us midwestern/eastern folks feel traveling to Bandon...

Chris,

Bandon is different.  ;)

SS next week for me.

Howard - just thinking... you should plan this for the weekend after the change to daylight savings time.

Wonderful idea Michael...more time inbetween rounds and perhaps a later start, so that we are not rushed at breakfast.

Tom
And if its Palm Desert we can all meet at Stone Eagle ?
And all get a puitting lesson from  Dave Stockton Jr...anybody interested in this newly introduced option courtesy of Mr Doak let me know ;)

Well, the last GCA outing at Stone Eagle went so well that I spent six months dealing with people who couldn't figure out why I hadn't built a walkable course in 120-degree heat.  So, if it's Palm Desert, outings will be limited to no more than three players at a time.

I was there, it was only 115*.  And dry heat at that.   ;D

That was a great experience and a couple of great days for golf!  If I remember right, some brave soul actually did walk..

Howard - just thinking... you should plan this for the weekend after the change to daylight savings time.

As you know, my group arrived the day you left. That was the day daylight savings time kicked in, and it was perfect. We had plenty of light to finish both of our rounds each day, as well as have breakfast in the AM. (But not much daylight before the round to hit balls.)

That was an affirmative "Yes, interested!" from 21 people in the span of a few short days.  (Albeit without even knowing the dates or rates.)

Looks like the 2014 Streamsong outing is hereby in official planning mode!  To quote the great philosopher Michael Corleone in the forgettable 'Godfather III":

“Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.”

         http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPw-3e_pzqU

But I'm definitely looking forward to it!  Just as long as I have my pick of caddies, skip the scary cartilage-filled ribs, drive with Jerry and have assurances that nobody will take a side trip to a hospital.  Deal?

I already connected with the sales manager at Streamsong.  He's going to look at possible dates, with a preference of March 13-16 to accommodate daylight savings, per Whitty and Bill's suggestion.  They're also in the process of finalizing their group rates for 2014.

My one ask?  A new name for the event.  Somehow "GCA Streamsong Spring Training Outing" doesn't cut it.  I welcome your suggestions.

Phosphate Cup?

More to come!
