Winged Foot is an obvious selection for me but a lesser known gem is the clubhouse of Old Oaks CC in Purchase, formerly known as Hill Crest, which was the estate hub of Trenor Luther Park, built in the late 1880s.
Though impressive enough, this photo doesn't entirely capture the scope and command of the property this structure holds...there is a terraced plaza in the rear going down to the Olympic pool (where scenes from two different movies have been shot), 14 guest rooms on the upper floors, magnificent dark oak grill and more interest and amenities than I can describe here.
The course to which this beauty belongs is also a rather unheralded Tillinghast (although I'm pretty sure Alison was involved at any early stage) and along with Century, hosts the US Open sectional every few years, including the upcoming 2013 edition.
cheers
