Would this be considered a "cape" hole? I keep waffling on it in my own mind. New input desired  ;D

I don't think it is.  Neither shot involves biting off a piece of the lake.

My wife and two daughters hate it also.  I played it once, made par on the 15th and 17th, and now whenever I see a pro bogeying one of them on TV, I yell "Hey, I made a three, you chump!"  My family cringes.

I haven't told them that the pros play 'em 30 yards longer.

I think I ask this question every year, but I've never gotten a defininitive answer.

They call it the Bear Trap, but wasn't Tom Fazio the original designer, and weren't 15-17 more or less the same holes before Jack redid them?

I was watching the coverage today and Rory drove it way down there in the right rough, and they showed the aerial. I was thinking wow what a terrible angle. I guess since he bit off more of the hole and had the worse angle it can't be a cape.  That hole just seems a little weird on tv.
