I've never done the music festival thing - mostly because it's never available to me being tied up from March through December.  I do salivate at the list of performers, however, and this year's Bonnaroo is no exception.  I still couldn't imagine a week spent tenting it in the scorching heat and open fields of Tennessee among a hundred thousand or so crazies, no matter how good the music.

Bill: as much as I'd like to say I would have gone, it's probably not true.  I do enjoy a lot of those artists but from what I've heard, a lot of those Woodstock performances were pretty sloppy.

This is of course not to suggest that they were all sloppy nor that the event itself wasn't a major moment for music.

I'm pretty much a snob about the forms of entertainment that I dislike. In order, from the most hated, those would be:

Ballet, interpretive dance, Honey Boo Boo, opera, musicals (except for any musical produced by the creators of South Park), gymnastics, ice dancing, figure skating...
