Just checked the website.  It says that the club is now a daily fee course.

Perhaps Dormie will be another great investment for the third owner. I truly hope it stays open. I love the place.

A good start will be deciding what they are.  Can't go anywhere without a clear direction

Very strange. Didn't Dormie just go fully private at the beginning of the year? By my math, they went from fully private to public in less than a month.

I hope this place stays open. I really want to play it.

I hope the place succeeds one way or another. Really a cool golf course. #17 is one of the best par fives I've ever seen.

Something about the site doesn't seem right.

Try this one:

The green fees and rates section of that one says "under construction"

I played there this fall on a professional courtesy, and the caddie master informed me that the club would be going fully private on January 1 of this year...regardless it was a great course in a neat setting, and I would recommend everyone to play it if making a trip through Pinehurst. Perhaps Dormie was just a little too late to the party.

The "original" website was ready for the move to fully private:

Was there a change in ownership?  They were pumping greens fees towards the end of the year, saying they would only be honored through March since going "fully private"...wonder if those are being honored (and what happens to members)

For those who are interested in playing the Dormie Club with a good bunch of GCA'ers, see the current Dixie Cup thread on page 1 for details.

I have played quite a few C & C courses and Dormie is certainly a fine example of their work and it is usually firm and fast making it a great experience.  For anyone going to the Pinehurst area it is a must play and while Tobacco Road is a bunch of fun, I would play Dormie 8 out of 10 times over TR.  It isn't cheap but in line with the pricing in the area.

I made the trip last year and was one of few on the course...love this course...layout was so amazing.  Finishing the round felt like you were in Clementon. I am trying to sneak as many holes as I can on Friday before my 1150 TT at #2 if anyone is in town.

That's not what I see at all. Are you sure that you supplied the proper link?

This might be the proper link.

The two competing websites have two different phone numbers.  Should be pretty easy detective work for someone whom the calls will be local or doesn't mind a bit of a long distance charge.

It gets better.

Click on "further notice" tab.
This gem appears.

"To get the best rate, take a chance and book at the last minute".
                            OR
"Fill out the contact information and we'll notify you of the latest discounts"

Why not just have people book through Priceline?
At least then you wouldn't feel like a complete chump when booking in advance and wondering what the 5 foursomes in front of you paid.

can't possibly be a good situation for a "member"

Seems like a really cool course. seems somebody might want to bring some simplicity to their pricing and website (s).
I'm sure the issues are deeper than that, but why highlight the confusion?
