There is momentum building for a couple of groups playing at the Jersey Shore this Sunday, late morning.  If you are seriously interested in participating, contact me by e-mail directly.

P.S.  For those of you that always jump initially at something like this, then flake out on me, please don't inquire.  Sorry to be so direct, but I'm tired of taking unnecessary charges on my credit card b/c of no shows.

P.S.2  Temps are predicted to be in the 50's.

I think I'll get my G5 ready. The forecast for Sunday looks better than here in The Valley of the Sun.  ;D

We have a couple of 'maybes' (JNC, Mike C) that could turn into attendees, then we can grab another tee time and even take on another player or two.

Any signs of damage from Sandy?

Mark McKeever

Tom,

Other than a few random trees being down or gone, it looks like nothing happened.

Joe-Thanks for setting up what turned out to be a great day at ACCC. I don't think we got near sixty degrees but it was still balmy for January. Good to see all you guys!

Bob Harris

Any signs of damage from Sandy?

We were at Seaview last Wednesday for a course rating.  No damage on the Bay and a few downed trees on the Pines.

Ed Brzezowski

Now thats being dedicated to the rating craft, well done Bob.
We have a pool and a pond, the pond would be good for you.

Malcolm Mckinnon

Joe,

Thank you for organizing  this. Bill Crane and I  both really enjoyed  ACCC.

Mike T., don't  forget to email me regarding the pooling of  workman's comp., etc. We joined a textile group like this years ago and, as members went out of business, one by one, we and a few select others were left holding the bag on the liabilities.

Take a suck on that!

Kind regards,

Malcolm

Joe - Thanks again for setting this up.  ACCC offers wonderful value in the offseason.

Mark/Kris/Doug/Bill - Great to finally meet and play with you guys.  Hope our paths cross later in the year.

Tim - Always a pleasure.

Warm thanks to the Executive Tour stalwarts that made their way to ACCC for a fine day of golf and good cheer. Special thanks to Joe Bausch for putting together the gathering and a shout out to Pro Fran and the ACC staff for taking great care of the group. Yet another wonderful example of the GCA gang doing what we should do best...and more often when possible...sharing some G on a neat track!

Tom,

As others noted, some smaller downed trees and weather-beaten, exposed bunker-wall areas, which would be expected, was the only evidence something had been through the place. Now Links of Brig., just across the bay, got pounded, so I'd say that location, and the tidal marsh grass buffering ACC(and Seaview) probably softened the impact of the surge on those two courses.

Cheers,

"I said in a talk at the Dunhill Tournament in St. Andrews a few years back that I thought any of the caddies I'd had that week would probably make a good golf course architect. We all want to ask golfers of all abilities to get more out of their games -caddies do that for a living." T.Doak

I'm sorry I missed this excursion to the shore.  Family obligations kept me on the couch watching football and drinking beer with the wife's kin.  It's good to hear the course was spared from Sandy's wrath.  ACCC has a good buffer in the bay and its wetlands.  ACC is my favorite in south Jersey.  Best bunkering down the shore, the course does not beat you up with length and difficulty, just enough roll in the land to negate the flatness of the general area, not over built with mounding and whatnot, and a great history.  I do not have a favorite in central or north Jersey yet because of a lack of plays.  I hope I catch up with you guys soon enough.  Cheers.

Shi$,

We didnt even get to tee off yeat and people were already wondering where you were!  There were grumblings that it had to do with an unfair ruling in a previous game, but I can't be sure.   ;)

Next time hopefully your schedule will cooperate!

Come home Johnny Boy come home. It was still one of the greatest up and ins that I have ever seen if that makes you feel any better. ;D

John Shimony

Thanks for the kind words.  I now own a 60 degree wedge that doesn't have a massive amount of bounce.  Watch out.  I'll be up and in from all over the joint this year.

My favorite holes are the 7th, where the fairway rises just enough to pump the blood and encourage the drive to carry the right bunker and hill to reach the downslope; the 11th, for the beauty of the cross bunkers and accuracy required on the second shot, and the 15th, for the terror of the tee shot that requires a long iron to a fortress green on the eastern edge of the US main land.  I love the place.  No pump houses to speak of either.  How was the wind?

Wind was calm for the most part.  The fog was a different story!

Looks like momentum is gathering for some golf at the south Jersey Shore this coming Sunday (Feb 10).  Weather is predicted to be in the mid-40's.  I'm working now lining up the course.  Details to follow soon.

Contact me if interested.  No pretenders, please.
