"I said in a talk at the Dunhill Tournament in St. Andrews a few years back that I thought any of the caddies I'd had that week would probably make a good golf course architect. We all want to ask golfers of all abilities to get more out of their games -caddies do that for a living." T.Doak

Was just looking at an aerial Google map of Wildwood, and then started panning North and came across what is clearly an old golf course of some sort (9 holes maybe) just west of the Garden St. Pkwy/Rte. 9 by the Tuckahoe Inn (just on the south end of the bridge crossiing Great Egg Harbor Bay... i'd post a screenshot if i knew how.

Does anyone know what that was/is?

I think youre actually looking at Heritage Links Golf Course.  Its a little 9 holer between the parkway and rte 9 just south of the bridge.  Its been a while, but I used to work for the guy that owns that and a course in the Philly area.  Its a neat little place to get a few holes in during a trip to the shore.  The hole with the hourglass green is fun.

Cool fact.  There is a very very old cemetery in the middle of the golf course from when the original settlers came to the area for whaling.

I wanted to bring up a course that I think some of you guys might not know about - Sea Oaks.  It is in a retirement community near the Jersey shore and Matt Ward put me on to it.  Played it a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It has some really cool features including a double green and a good number of risk reward holes.  I am not in the area but thought I would bring it to your attention.
