The Volvo Championship is being played at Durban Country Club and can be viewed on the Golf Channel for those interested.
Durban Country Club is an interesting mix of parkland and links golf. The course is routed through severely undulating dunes and then through some flatlands. With the course being a couple hundred yards from the Indian Ocean coastline, wind is almost always a factor. This adds to the challenge of the course having to hit from elevated tee boxes down to narrow, undulated fairways and back up into elevated, well-contoured greens.
For those that have played it, please feel free to add comments especially any features that we may not pick up on TV.
Also, is there another course that it compares favorably to?
