« on: December 09, 2012, 09:21:33 PM »
..I t'rew a picture up for the "photo" contest...some people took to it, appreciated it; asked me for more, thus I thought I'd give a free drop for good measure....
Oh, to rub elbows with them again...
The best friends I never knew.

Were any of your new friends Bob Dylan fans?  Thanks for the great pics.

...fans ?

Yes, as in...

Everybody's buildin' the big ships and the boats
Some are building monuments, others are jotting down notes
Everybody's in despair, every girl and boy
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here, everybody'll jump for joy

That might be a Manfred Mann version, but it's a Dylan song.

I am well aware it is a Dylan song. ;)  The Manfred Mann version was certainly the most widely known recording of the song.

Quinn,

Can you only take sepia-tinged photos in China?  Is it a government regulation?

Thanks for the photos Quinn. I lived in Hong Kong for a f years and the people were truly exceptional. Some of the best time and people I have ever met. Your pictures took me back and I appreciate that!

The main attraction for work and travel is not sightseeing, but rather people.

Mr.Lavin...that's a six-shooting paint gun, or a six sting Telecaster in this case....

Dyaln fans ? no...I tried...( I'm a big as a fan as they come, and anyone who doesn't own the new album " Tempest",  is rightfully missing out)...Old Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin soul, ah they understood that...
I gave a kid those headphones one day and played the Beatles " Taxman"...when the opening riff hit, he ripped the headphones off his head as if he were being attacked by a swarm of wasps...Rock n' Roll scared the shit out him, and I laughed the whole way through.

Ah as far as the Sepia tone, it just felt appropriate...the gig was old school, and it felt like it should have been documented in the same fashion...

Alas, here's a picture of the most meaningful Thanksgiving...

Cheers.
