Douglas Adams and Conwy

I am sure you know the Douglas Adams paintings - the Drive etc - three of which represent Conwy. Does anyone know when Adams made the paintings? Can we date his actual visit? Again, any help would be most welcome.

  I believe "The Drive" is signed "Douglas Adams 1893" and was published March 1894, copyright that year.

  Here is a link to a copy for sale with that info.
