"An Inventory garden and designed landscape is a nationally important site that has been included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland (the ‘Inventory’). Historic Scotland undertakes compilation and management of the Inventory on behalf of Scottish Ministers. Inclusion of a site means that it receives recognition and a degree of protection through the planning system."

Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.

Well done Martin,
here is another extract from Historic Scotland's site, describing the classification of the "St.Andrews Links"
http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/pls/htmldb/f?p=2400:15:0::::GARDEN:GDL00344
Historic Scotland classify the "St.Andrews Links" historic value as "Outstanding"
Did the latest alterations announced by the R&A pass the scrutiny of Historic Scotland?
