Melvyn was Right
« on: November 29, 2012, 12:50:52 PM »

I owe Melvyn an apology. There were times when I asked him about his animus toward the R&A, which at times was fierce in the extreme. With the recent ukase of the changes to be made to the Old Course by the club confirms some of his views.

I would think that this announcement should have come from the Links Trust, not from the Secretary of the R&A.

Melvyn, you were right.

Nice, Bob!  Nice!

I think Melvyn was/is right about a lot of things.  He just had too abrasive of a manner regarding how he got his points across.

As usual, it was off on a trip to the dictionary to comprehend Sir Boab's muse.  That was a great word!   ;D

noun
1.
(in czarist Russia) an edict or order of the czar having the force of law.

2.

The word's definition above really seems to fit the situation in spirit of how things were done regarding the process of TOCs defilement.

Good thing you clarified that.  I thought it was someone who lives in the United Kingdom!   ;D

Bob

I believe you are in a position where you can ask Mr Dawson why it was him who fronted up on this. I suspect the answer might be that it was agreed by all concerned however is it also not the case that the Links Trust also posted the news on their website also. Obviously Dawson is going to attract the media attention in relation to changes and the Open.

I can't honestly see how Dawsons commenting on the changes was out of order.

I concur. If Melvyn's real life persona is as full of conviction as his Internet personality, he'd be chained to a bunker right now.
