Hillbillies Get Giddy with Liddy
« on: October 11, 2012, 10:24:55 AM »
Not since the Hillbillies Took a Poke at Doak years ago has the Hillbilly Tour visited Southern Indiana, fertile recruiting ground indeed.

I plan on playing Tim Liddy's Sultan's Run on Monday Nov. 12th.  Paging the tour founder and the architect.   As the evangelical preachers are wont to shout - one has come forward, are there any others?

While I have not spoken with Tour Commish John Kavanaugh, Monday's event (for which I received no responses) is tenatively postponed as I do not wish to drive 5 hours round trip to play when the forecast is a high of 54 degrees with a 70% chance of rain.  However, I have been know to wake up early and hop in the car anyway in pursuit of interesting architecture and greater familiarity with Mr. Liddy's work.

In the highly unlikely event anyone is interested I'll update Sunday if I can pull myself away from another riveting Titans game.   FWIW no tee times have been reserved.

What a wimp you are, Bogey!  54 degrees and 70% rain is prime golfing conditions over here in Scotland--even in mid-July!  Even if they don't have carts at Sultan's Run I'm sure Barney could rustle up a magic carpet (aka 16 wheeler) if you asked him nicely.

Enjoy!
Life is good.

Any afterlife is unlikely and/or dodgy.

Rich, the only difference in Scotland is that you don't have to drive 2.5 hours each way to find an interesting golf course!

And yes, I am a wimp - but not for that reason.

Are there leaves in Scotland? The weather we happily play in at Bandon is not the same weather we enjoy in Indiana.  It is sad that after this glorious weekend we are looking at a dismal day to honor veterans.
