I live in Chicago.  This is about as much nature as I'm allowed.

No picture but the River Tyne (and 4 of its 7 8 bridges) is less than 50 yards from my office window.

The grime on the Tyne is mine, all mine.

The stark desolation of Central Florida is a tranquil offset to the sprawl found along the I4 corridor.
No grime on the Tyne these days.  The industry has gone to be replaced by nature and culture (I can see both a two hall concert venue and a large modern art gallery (housed in a converted flour mill) from my office).  To be honest, we don't get much fog these days, either.....
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Andy-
Fair point, although there's a road between the course and the river -- indeed, the road might be OB.  I was really thinking of courses that aren't separated from the Potomac by anything.  (Which is true of courses like River Creek, Trump Nat'l and Lansdowne, although I was really thinking about courses closer in.)

It'd be nice to have the views (some of which could be obtained by taking down trees next to the road), but that area is very popular with non-golfers, too, so it's nice that they have some space. With the location in regards to the city and the potomac basically surrounding the courses, it's a fantastic location though. The drive in and the putt-putt have great views though!

No disagreement.  I used to have a picture of the no-betting sign on the putting green. . . .

Plus, I live in Chicago.  What am I supposed to say?

"Wrigley Field."

Chicago's largest urinal.  It should be leveled.

They will only level it if the owners' can convince the taxpayers to pay for a new one.  It's the Chicago way.

This is Wilmslow Common to which we take the dogs most days. It is less than a mile from our house. Excitingly, they are removing many trees to encourage the heather to re-establish more extensively. You could get three or four holes on the land – but it is heavily protected.

You could cross a minor residential road, down a track or two (quarter of a mile) and there is this extensive peat bog. It, too, of course, is highly protected but you could get some fairly unusual holes on this land , the surrounding birch woodlands  and a few neighbouring fields (plenty enough for 18 full-length holes in total). Has a golf course ever been built on a peat bog? Moortown comes to mind, but I’m not sure it was peat.

I don't get there until February, and the weather keeps her under cover for long stretches.  But I'm pretty excited about seeing Rainier from McChord AFB's ramp.

Topp with the topper. What a peaceful daily domestic portrait. Well done. With a view like that who needs Topp's travels?

The view is replacing Topp's Travels for the most part.
