If anyone is interested in a used copy of the 1996 edition of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses - this might be a good opportunity...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Confidential-Guide-to-Golf-Courses-Doak-Tom-/130766730972?pt=US_Nonfiction_Book&hash=item1e724df6dc

One caveat, if any members of GCA who might currently be incarcerated, they won't be able to ship it to you...

CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES

We have had numerous returns from correctional facilities for material considered unacceptable by their Administration. We no longer ship orders to correctional facilities. Any orders we receive addressed to one will be automatically cancelled and the Buyer will be notified by email.

What goes here?

I have a 1996 edition put out by Sleeping Press which is in great shape, and I want to keep for reference as I travel around, but it sure isnt worth $800, in my mind.

Periodically I see threads like this...

And my opinion is - much like ticket touting at concerts / gigs - looking for more than face value for books about GCA is against certain values I hold... I have never looked to sell a concert ticket for more than face value no matter how difficult they are to get hold of (maybe because it's illegal)... Likewise, if I had unwanted GCA books, I'd look to pass them on to fellow GCA fans for minimal cost if anything...

I have been lucky enough to be the recipient of kind offers this way, most recently Mark Chaplin sending on Patric Dickinson's book... Whilst I understand this ebay person may not be from this board, I'd like to think any threads directly trying to sell books for more than face value would be banned by Ran in the future... Against the spirit in my opinion... but each to their own I guess...
