Cover Stations

During the late 80's, our course was blessed with several wood gazebos scattered around three tee areas, all of which were donated in memory of someone.

They are ugly and out of place, are rarely used (although spike marks are still visible on the floors), and are now coming into serious disrepair.

It's our intention to remove at least two, if not all three, this winter, but we would need to replace two of them with cover stations as they are on the far outskirts of the golf course.

Without trying to 'reinvent the wheel', I view this as an oppty to put something simple in place that could potentially add a bit of character.  Any ideas are most welcome...

Those things always look out of place to me, however placed properly a small gazebo can look OK.  Incorporating something into the treeline/woodline to make it as conspicuous as possible is next best thing to none at all.

I'd probably say don't try too hard. I think the simple ones are best...basically 4 posts anda roof.

My favorites are almost like caves into the dunes on the Valley Course at Royal Portrush.  Anyone have a photo?

Or the traditional crossed walls with a roof.

A few years back a course in Virginia erected a rain shelter next to its eleventh tee.  There are none on the outskirts, but players can always take cover 600 yards from the clubhouse!
