Eric,

Wow that’s a lot of bounce! Who makes those wedges and are they custom or can a nobody buy them? Also are they more effective as the lie gets thinner? What course conditions prompted you to get so much bounce?

Watching the best 18 players in the world at The Hero chunk shots and miss greens from 7 yards out due to super tight turf.
The players all blame grain

I grew up on bermuda and never remember doing or seeing this presumably because even though the grass was equally grainy (probably moreso given agronomy "advancements") but the difference is the turf wasn't cut so short.

I too can’t understand how these guys duff shotsnlike this...I have played on Bermuda too many times to count and I’ve never seen anything like this.

They're just Edel wedges. I can play them from any course condition, including hardpan. Or a cart path. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCI05lC4Kxk - that's my 60°/22°). The sole has relief on the back half and toward the toe or heel, so I can lay it open and do whatever I want with it.

Here's another fun video shot with a Phantom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzMGMaS-iYE. These aren't shots you'd hit on the golf course - they don't travel very far.  :)

I don't buy the idea that "firm courses = low bounce." Take all the bounce you can get, WITH a versatile grind. Which, basically, means anything but a Vokey. Horrible grinds on their stock wedges. So wide, virtually no camber, often much too little bounce.
