Information on Tillinghast and Flynn
« on: October 04, 2012, 01:40:36 PM »
Does anyone know the proposed locations of the following courses which I believe were all designs that were never built?

Tillinghast:

C. Ledyard Blair
H.M. Wing
T. Mortimer Fuller

Flynn:

Edgar Munson
J.F. Manne
Ritz Carlton North/South
Robert Cassatt

Sven - The Ritz-Carlton courses were planned for a site west of Boca Raton. They were never built. The Cassatt course was built on his estate near Rosemont outside of Philadelphia. The Manne design was for a miniature golf course near Ocean City NJ - probably never built. Edgar Munson was one of the founders of Eagles Mere CC which definitely was built. Can't help you on the AWT courses.

Craig:

Thanks for the info.

Interestingly, I put the Edgar Munson course under the wrong name.  The Tillinghast Society has the course listed as an Original Design that is NLE.  Wonder if this means Munson consulted with Tillinghast on a private course, or if Tillie drew up plans for what eventually became Flynn's work at Eagles Mere.
