If the USGA/R&A rolled back ball and club technology to something circa 1990 or so how would clubs and architechts respond?
Some possible avenues could be:
Shortening of courses?
Firmer fairways to make up for the lessened carry off of the driver?
More interest in ground game options like the opening up the fronts of greens since the aerial game could be made more challenging given the longer clubs being hit into the greens?
Thoughts and insights please.
