That is really gay, I don't need to know that somebody won the 1998 Mixed Member Guest Quota.

At New Haven CC in Connecticut, lockers have little signs for member's holes in one. Course, date and, I believe, club they used. Awesome.

I'm talking about things like "XXXX US Amateur qualifier" or "XXXX Whatever State Amateur Champion".

I play at a friends club where they put every club tourney accomplishment in your locker. The guy with the locker next to him has about 8 little plates and my buddy has nothing.

Couple quick points here:

Mark - my club, no hcp board. However we do have an online members directory and all hcps are posted there and actual up to the minute regardless where in the country you've played as long as you've utilized the national hcp system. I can look up the official hcp of every single registered golfer in the country if I have his first initial and last name. Never seen a hcp board at a course over here.

Secondly, I'm a little concerned with those of you who have made comments about leaving your clubs in the storage locker at your club. That is just pure neglect of the highest form. Would you leave your girlfriend, wife, children or even your dog in some storage locker? Wait don't answer that. Show a little respect for your babies, they should be with you at all times, in the living room when you are watching the golf channel, in your bedroom cuddled up in a blanket at night (you don't want them getting cold or being lonely), in your office next to your desk, so you can put and practice your swing inbetween meetings or phone calls I mean seriously guys. Respect them and they to will respect you. Just saying...

In no particular order:

The quality and relative seclusion of a clean, cool water source with high mineral content for the production of 'potent potables'.

The probability of having a 'confirmed siting' at some point during visit.

A homemade BBQ pit.

Low overhead (but good food) is always a giveaway.

In midwest, good practice facility with little nonsense

If you have to look for a guy to give your bag to, and when you find him he treats you like you're a member, you're getting close.
