I agree, i think there's a built in bias against almost everything "jones".

I've played a number of his courses that I like.

Don't forget that RTJ, the USGA and TV formed a triumverate that greatly influenced golf in the 50's, 60's and 70's


Well said, Pat. While I can't say I'm a huge fan of Rees, I have enjoyed many RTJ, Sr. courses. I played one of his earlier designs during my college and law school days at Cornell and thought it was a fantastic test of golf, particularly the front 9. I also very much enjoyed Dorado Beach and Port Royal. Lastly, while I don't love Rees, I still acknowledge he's a pretty damn good architect. I find my disagreement with him to be purely stylistic. There are many other well-educated golfers who hold him in high esteem and I am fine with an "agree to disagree" on him.
