OK folks....looking for any suggestions for anything...well almost
anything....as I will be in the city from Weds to Sunday.....planning a
few rounds at LA CC and USC-Cal game Saturday afternoon....also, if
anyone in area wants to hook up for a beverage or bite, please let me know...

Rustic Canyon in Simi Valley is the best public within 50 miles and is worth the drive.  Angeles National is a Nicklaus course that is very tough and fun out in Sunland but all freeway drive.
If you have private access you should play Wilshire CC and Bel Air. Palos Verdes CC is near LAX and you might be able to squeeze in a round there.
If you want ocean views there is Trump National but be prepared to pay for it and the course is like Magic Mountain Golf.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

I'd skip the Cal-SC game if I were you, unless you enjoy watching paint dry.

Joe,

Riviera would be the obvious addition if you can get access.  Also second the Rustic Canyon recommendation.  Probably the best course for the money in metro NY/LA/Chicago.  Also try and get in here:

you can skip angles and Wilshire too!

Riv, LACC, Rustic , all the others are average at best.
Still need to play Pine Valley!!

I assume you are smirking as you say that, because Stanford beat USC.

As someone who will be painting his son's room this weekend, I'd rather be at the Cal-SC game!  ;D ;D ;D

Golf next weekend though!  :D

Stanford beat USC?  Quelle surprise!  Over here in Old Blighty we only get gridiron scores when the packet steamer from Long Beach arrives in Liverpool.  I suspect the boat is stuck in the Doldrums now, just like (apparently) USC and Cal.  Quelle domage..... :'(
