Maidstone is a cool spot and very unassuming in terms of the building itself. No real signature snack but just a great place to stop and realise where you are in the world.
The beef jerky reported to be made by a few of the caddies, supported by the members as a business venture, is awesome at Bayonne. They have the same stuff at Calusa Pines and make the same claims. I imagine it is possible the caddies in question work both venues seasonally.
Trump's half way stop at Bedminster is hard to beat for the quality of food but it is not really a house in its own right. Big outdoor grill at the back of the clubhouse. Similarly at Old Collier in Naples. Amazing crispy chicken wraps and adult smoothies.
I like the turn at Champions which also takes the crown for locker room atmosphere in my book.
Sunningdale is the classic spot for me though. Banter, food, tradition, location. It's got it all.
