Quite welcome.

A few additional stories (in blue font) are posted above. Notably, an interesting story from the NY Times on how Hurricane Hugo affected the Ocean Course -- and for the better.  I've heard about the hurricane's impact on Wild Dunes and Charleston National ... but this was new to me.

“It caused an awful lot of work for us and trouble for the area, but Hugo did make the golf course better,” Dye said.

A few updates. Lots of reports about the weather conditions ("Pour by the Shore") and the challenging logistics for fans traveling to the course.

A couple additional articles about the course, weather, etc.  Surprised that WSJ's John Paul Newport had never been to Kiawah before this week.

Howard, I'm not going to start a new thread but here's my take from watching the TV today.

Major kudos to Kiawah. The signature PGA Championship (we want to be the US Open) 4-5 inch cabbage, is not to be found. Rather mother nature is providing all the challenge these guys can handle.

In one sense, with all the short grass and gathering bunker edges, they are usurping Pinehurst's unique playability in '14. Granted, with much softer and grabbier turf.
