Tom:

Understood, and there was a bit of discussion on that point in the thread I linked.

Was hoping to get some feedback on some of the design features.  Mark and Richard Choi (amongst others) seemed to have good things to say about the course.  Was hoping Sam might be able to expound on the brief statement he made about the course.

Sorry I just saw this. Aside from the conditioning at Awarrii Dunes there was something that didn't feel right about the lay-out. I couldn't quite put my finger on it until I was talking to a friend the other day. The course almost seemed unfinished. I really don't know if that even makes sense but it really did feel like they never finished. I've only played one other Engh (Lakota Canyon) and I realize Kearney is a different setting than New Castle but something was off. The lay-out and shaping seemed amateurish and rudimentary. I want to go walk around it and explore it just to try and get a better feel for it.

Weird.  I've played about 5 or 6 Enghs and if anything they may have felt over finished.  Not necessarily over done, but certainly an abudunce of details.  Wonder if your impression is budget related in some way.

Enjoyed your comments on your tour.  Disregard kavanaugh's comments, your tally on this trip alone is enviable.

I wondered if the budget became an issue.

I was the first group to take advantage of their stay and play offer and the answer is a very obvious yes.  Personally I could look past all that but my group could not and refuses to ever return.  They are not Enghaphobes either as we all loved Fossil Trace.

Didn't know they stay and play, does the club own one of the houses on it or is with a hotel in Kearney?

You can choose either of the Holiday Inn franchises in town.  It felt like there were co-investors.

This brings back to mind the disturbing application form where a Mother and Son look a bit too close for comfort.

I don't think it's mother and son. In the background there are trees, did I miss those when I was there?

I hadn't explored the website until now, it's a nice little clubhouse but I missed the fine dining.

John:

I'd cut the guy in the photo a break, he's obviously a purist:  single strap bag, vintage woods and an old school cotton wicking layer.

Of course, the other theory is that he was her caddy, and its a full service shop.

If I were a course and I was going to have a picture like that I'd put a pretty girl up atleast.

Sam, she is a stunning 40 something.  Strikingly beautiful.  Have you seen the picture of the family in the real estate section?  Have you seen the real estate?  The entire web site and accompanying photo shoot shows a level of disillusionment that turned me away from the reality of joining on my first visit.  If you just go by that site $1,500/year is a no brainer great deal.

No way that chick is 40, from what I saw of girls in Nebraska she is 32, wears tight jeans and push up bra from Wal-Mart. I spent a night in Kearney, the Perkins, the gas station, the Super 8, and the grocery store were brutal. The further north I went on that trip the more downhill the female quality went. The furthest north I got was Prairie Club but I did see a few cute girls working there but I should probably put that in Bogey's thread.

Sam,

I know we kid around alot but please don't disparage the ladies of Nebraska.  Someday I've got to make it down to Weebletown and check out the girls from your past.
