New golf course opening next week....
« on: July 02, 2012, 06:28:26 PM »
kind of.

In Minnesota, Rush Creek, the most upscale public course, will be opening a new 9 hole short course with holes ranging from 65 to 130 yards.

Interesting business model since this will actually be part of the Golf Academy.   In addition to its daily fees, there will be significant co-marketing with the academy with lessons/season passes available.   It will also be used frequently for playing lessons/on-course instruction.

I've walked the property and it is a decent piece of land and will be significantly better maintained than almost any other 9 hole course in the area.

Here's a link, if you care.

It is called Mac Nine, named after Duncan Macmillan, a Cargill heir and local philantropist.

Macmillans family developed Rush Creek as a way to grow public golf in Minnesota.

So it kinda has a connection to Streamsong.

Mike, Just curious but why would it be better as a figure 8?  Thanks.

Dan, Mosaic was recently spun off from Cargill.  It is their fertilizer operation.
