Hard to vote any one last since all course are great and have world-class holes and feature.

For me, my vote simply came down to is if I was there tomorrow and could play one round, where would I prefer to play.

PD, BT, OM, BD. The more I play Trails the more I like it. Can't say the same for BD or OM, at least with my length of the tee.

I agree Trails gets better every time I play it. Unfortunately I'd need to play it approximately 50 more times for it to move up to 3rd on my list based on the existing gap, and that isn't going to happen.

However, in 10 years i think my order will be different.
OM needs a little time to mature and grow in.

OM BT BD PD based on my two visits

OM - I'm a sucker for spectacular vistas - played the worst that day but liked it the most
BT - Played in steady rain but just loved the bunkering - I think this would be #1 on many lists if it had the ocean views
BD - The first one I played a decade ago, and I still love it
PD - I played my best there despite losing 3 off the tee...just off the fairways...I find PD far more penal than the others

I'd love to go back and confirm my ranking  :D.

I usually avoid and don't like ranking/top ten lists, but I always read these Bandon threads. Fascinating that BT and OM tend to be on opposite ends of the spectrum -- if someone likes OM best, they tend to put BT 3rd or 4th, and vice versa. My guess (a fool's guess, since I've never been there) is that it is the 'experience' more than the 'architecture' that is being ranked/judged. Interestingly, that's the point that Tom Huckaby has been trying to make for so many years.

It's really surprising to see such a variance in the rating of the courses.  I would have guessed PD and OM sharing the #1 and #2 votes, with BT handily taking BD for the #3 spot.

Just goes to show how good the golf is out there...

BTW,

Mike Keiser has taken countless groups out to Bandon over the years and he usually conducts an informal survey on the flight home (60 players typically) for everybody's favorite.  Old Macdonald has made some inroads on Pac Dunes dominion, but the general trend is PD, OM, BD, BT.  Interestingly enough, BT does have its ardent admirers with a handful of players selecting it as the favorite.  Of the four, BD probably is listed most infrequently as the favorite, but it is almost always ahead of BT.

My bottom line about this ranking is best put thusly:  If any of these courses was the only course out there, it would be a wildly popular destination.  Furthermore, BT probably gets dissed too much because the other courses have more ocean views and bunker eye candy.  Finally, the differences between the four are so small, in my opinion, that they amount to a subjective sort of rounding error.  All four are awesome and the fact that all four are together on the same, remote property is still almost unfathomable.
