After seeing two recent introduction threads...I hope three isn't a crowd!
I've been visiting the site for quite some time and finally figured it was time to join and start contributing. I'm from Indianapolis and have had the opportunity to travel a bit so I've been fortunate to see several pretty different courses.
I'm still forming a lot of my opinions on what good design is...which I'm sure is a life-long process...but the main thing I look in a course is the "fun factor." I think that can be had in many different types and styles of courses.
Since everyone love's lists, here's my current top 10:
1. Cape Kidnappers
2. Whistling Straits - Straits Course
3. Secession Golf Club
4. Harbor Town
5. Jack's Point
6. Kauri Cliffs
7. TPC Sawgrass
8. Porto Cima
9. Blackwolf Run - River Course
10. Fripp Island - Ocean Course
Honorable Mentions:
Sagamore Golf Club
Bali Hai
Four Seasons Lake of the Ozarks - Cove Course
Champions Retreat, Augusta
I'm always looking forward to visiting the next one, especially the next trip.
I really look forward to contributing as much as I can and getting to know everyone on board...and of course learning along the way
