Its not like he was in Anchorage, Oakland is just across the Bay. So Lock was brought to SFGC for his construction expertise; who designed the course that Lock built? I take it his reputation as golf architect increased as time went on.
Correct me if I'm wrong at the time of the great Panama-Pacific International exhibition of 1915 there were five 18-hole courses in the Bay Area - Burlingame, Claremont, Sequoyah, Presidio and Ingleside (SFGC). Six if you count Watson's proposed expansion of Lincoln Park. Who were the architects involved with those five courses?
