O/T What are your plans this weekend June 8-9-10-11
« on: June 07, 2012, 06:33:47 PM »
Sorry I Posted this and it received responses and then was gone.  I am sure it was something I did. I am playing at Quail Hollow in a Pro-Am. Devlin, VonHagge design with crazy elevation and some fun holes. Hated walking this In college.  It's that time of year for Member-Guests and the amateur events are ramping up. What is on tap for you?

Wow, Riverfront!

I am working on site at Simapo Island, Haikou, China June 8 and 9, and also meeting with the architects for our project here (Jean-Michel Gathy, who has designed many of the Aman resorts) and up the road at Mulan Bay (Mike Marsh from Atlanta).

June 10, I am flying home, Haikou to Chengdu to Seoul to Detroit to Traverse City.

June 11, I'm probably sleeping in.

Playing in the GolfStyles magazine tournament on Saturday at Laurel Hill in Lorton, VA, site of the '13 USGA Publinx.  The magazine - a Mid-Atlantic regional - sponsors a series of tourneys with a FedEx Cup-type points system that determines who makes the season-ending championship.

Nothing special.  (That was a joke.)  Just a Sunday afternoon round with my usual Sunday afternoon group at Carolina Golf Club in Charlotte.

Lawsonia!

I'm very excited to see it after the tree removal (which I hope is done or well underway).

At home in the land of Oz playing at my home club Commonwealth. I can only hope my talent with the driver is somewhat improved after last week's dissmal performance.

At least the course is in top shape :)

Elie this afternoon and tomorrow.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

I posted this before but think it got lost.  This weekend is the member-guest at my club -- one of the funnest member-guests I've played in -- but for various reasons I couldn't play this year.  So I'm playing Sunday morning (the m-g ends Saturday afternoon) with some other guys who also couldn't play.

Great weather in DC for golf this week. . . .

Jim, I really enjoyed the west course in the club pro last year. Lots of fun holes and it was in great condition. East wasn't bad but not as much interest as the west.   I really liked the stretch from 2-7 and 10-13 and 16. Really a great club and they treated us really well

Congratulations, Justin! But hang on to that equipment. One day soon you'll want to get out of the house for a little "me time," but you won't be able to afford to re-equip. Welcome to your new reality.

Lance - glad you enjoyed your time here. Hershey is a neat place with a lot of great golf. The West has so many good holes. The opening stretch is real good but I'd like it better later in the round. Once you get past the long par 3 8th I think the course is one of the realy good stretches of golf that I've played. 13 is an awesome par 5.
