Frank Hibbard was looking for some ideas for Shore Acres at the end of 1916 and it sounds like he was pretty interested in Detroit. The Committee hadn't yet settled on an architect, so is it possible that they might have thought about Colt or Ross?

Thanks, Jim.
The simplicity of those days is refereshing: "I like that course and it's considered a good one, and I want to copy it so that I can get a good course too".
So much better and more honest, I think, than having design competitions and secret ballots to get to the architect/course that is currently considered great, just so  you can then copy it without anyone noticing...

Peter,
They also had a long time to think about it as they didn't start building until a few years later.
