Playing Keller in TCs, before the renovation....
« on: May 29, 2012, 10:47:39 PM »
I'm going to be in TC area this coming weekend.  I may try to get out to Keller Fri. or Sat.  I am intrigued by what is there and to see it before the Richard Mandell renovation.  Anyone in TC interested if tee time comes available?  I'm thinking twilight Fri may be a possible open tee time. IM me if any Minnieapplese are interested to inquire for a tee time.

Very sorry I'm unlikely to be available, Dick. I keep meaning to get over to Keller, and I will at some point this summer. I'm guessing it's in great shape; all the Twin Cities courses I've played this year are.

I played last weekend with a guy who caddied for Sam Snead three straight years in the old St. Paul Open at Keller. Snead loved the course, won there twice, and commanded the biggest galleries until Palmer came along in the late '50s. You can still still see why it was a good venue for the pros for 35 years. It's not a tricky course, but it was long for its time.

I will be on a tight schedule with wedding planning stuff.  But, I have a 303Pm Sat tee time.  Dan and Rose are maybes, Jason can't.  No problems if others can't. I'm going to be in Twin Cities much more often in future, so there will be other opportunities.  I just felt like I must see Keller before the renovation, and have something to compare Richard's work after, in 2015 re-opening.  I have a feeling, Richard can hit a real home run on this project.  8)

I can't play this Saturday as I already have something set up. But when you are back again, I'd be happy to have you out at Southview.

RJ - I can probably play on Sat. Just need to check one thing.
Can you play Sun am?

Dick --

Check your email.

Rose is working. I'll be recuperating.

I await, with 'bated breath, your verdict on The Tree!

I'm in the TC now, and will check in until tomorrow if anyone else is interested in 303Pm Sat.  Otherwise, I'll cancel tee time and go out as a single and see if I can just catch on as a walk-up to have a look.
