Joe,

One out of two ain't bad. But it won't be replacing any of these festivities.

Can't wait to get to Philly and feel the Brotherly Love in person.

See if maybe the alleged 5-marker John Lyon can break 80 one time ;D -- three months in London together and I never once saw him do it.

Scott - John Lyon broke 70 at French Creek last year.  Broke my heart to tell him we still had 3 holes left.

I will say, he might not have broken 80, but in that same three months I don't think I saw him miss a putt from inside 15ft...

Screw you, Scott, I was well under 80 at Swinley Forest, Huntercombe, and North Berwick.  I think GCAers have collectively seen the best and worst of my golf game, all around the world!

Golf sounds great, but unfortunately I am basically out of vacation for the year already.  I would definitely like to join the crew for dinner and a putting contest perhaps? (reference to Ch. 3)

DISCLAIMER**  That is NOT the smurf blue towel pictured with John, although it was out that day at Greate Bay.  I am on the other side of the picture that was cropped out I guess over near the hugging action.

Scott, there are tons of great places in the city for a bite to eat and a few drinks.  I work next to Independence Hall, the birthplace of our nation, within walking distance of more than a few good taprooms.  Count me in.

Chappers,

It's just a pity the successful staging of the London Olympics depends on your no-nonsense policing, or you'd have been able to come and help me find out. Though I am playing a few courses with 21st Century build dates, so not really up your ally!

All,

Going back through the pages it appears this is the list of attendees/hopefuls for dinner and beers in central Philly on the Monday night (Aug 13) More than happy for some locals to put their heads together and choose a venue:

Scott Warren
John Lyon
Joe Bausch
Kris Shreiner
Powell Arms
Mark McKeever
Tim Martin
Jason Mandel
Rory Connaughton ? (not sure if you're in for a Philly thing or just for LCC)
Michael Blake
Jim Sherma
Ed Brzezowski
Mike Malone ?
John Shimony

So probably a group of 10-15, to give those selecting the venue some idea of group size.

I'm still sad you're not coming to Texas, I'd told my girlfriend you were going to crash on our couch. She left the room when I said you were my internet friend from Australia.

Good place for drinks and only a couple of blocks from where you'll be staying.

Just an idea.

Sounds like a good meeting point, Michael. Looks like a few interesting pale ales and IPAs on the menu that I've not had before. No one does IPAs like the Yanks!

I am told Doug Braunsdorf is also keen to join in. The group continues to grow...
