Shivas,  Thanks for posting those Chicago references.  Someone sent me that first article and I meant to post it but I haven't had a chance.



For what is is worth, Chicago seems to show up more than any other area in articles discussing quality, popular public golf.   But the 262,000 rounds?  How many courses does that include? 
Golf history can be quite interesting if you just let your favorite legends go and allow the truth to take you where it will.

I spent four (4) years near Chicago and Lake Michigan and recall the winters vividly.

Thus, I view, with enlightened suspicion, the figures quoted.
