I'm still in, if that works.  I'm a 4.0 right now.  I'll check back in a couple days with IMs.  Thanks.

I played Sagebrush last Saturday and the place is rounding into form very nicely. They have made a change on No. 2 to clear the area to the left of the green of fescue which allows for a larger area to bounce the ball into the green. It has been seeded and will make the approach on No. 2 easier. It had been too difficult in the past.

The cottages are well under construction and the lodge is starting up. They will be very "high end" when finished but they will not be ready until August.

One MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING KP is that the Rod Whitman, who was the lead architect at Sagebrush and has just finished Cabot Links, will be on site in June at Sagebrush and will be joining us for dinner at the Hideout. Rod will be spending the summer up there building the "Bugaboos" which will be the huge putting green, a la The Himilayas at St Andrews.

I will make a further post regarding room sharing and getting your credit card info to the Quilchena Hotel very shortly.

As mentioned in previous posts, I have booked the entire Quilchena Hotel for the nights of June 8, 9 and 10. The hotel is about 500 yards from the entrance to Sagebrush. It is very old and very funky, full of antiques, clean as a whistle but not full of modern amenities. There are single rooms, double rooms, most with a bathroom but some where you shower etc. down the hall. The place has a ton of history and if you go into the bar you will find bullet holes from a dispute which took place in there over 100 years ago.
The website for the hotel is at www.quilchena.com and on there you will find some room descriptions, layouts, etc. Based on emails and IMs I have received, I will try to assign people to their preferences. I will then get back to you with a room number and the contact person at the hotel so you can give a credit card number to take me off the hook for the whole place. There is also the Ranch House which is at the back of the hotel which can easily sleep a group of five so if you may have a larger group, please let me know. Currently I have it on hold.
The hotel number is 250-378-2611. Jill Rose is the manager and the person I have been dealing with. When I get back to you with a room number, I will ask you to call Jill or in the alternative, Jennifer, to give them your credit card number.
The plan is to arrive on the afternoon or evening of Friday, June 8 and get up for an 8 am start at Sagebrush in the morning. Dinner at the Hideout on Saturday and Sunday. Dinner is $50 plus whatever you drink and you can pay by credit card at the Hideout. Then we can play again all day on Sunday, stay at the Quilchena again that night and get up on Monday morning to head out to Marine Drive. I will get detailed directions to Marine to you in advance.
More to come.

Bob failed to mention the other major change to the course, which is the pot bunker in the middle of the seventh fairway has been filled. It has consistently filled up with water and mud, which was the reason for the change. Since it was in play it seems to me that something needs to take it's place. The other minor change is slightly longer grass edging some greenside bunkers. When I get back to Portland I will post pictures of the changes of the experience Sagebrush thread.

If you can't carry the ball longer than 175 yards I strongly suggest you play the white tees because of carries off the tees and the poor position that leaves you for the rest of the hole. If you need to play the whites contact Will MacEwen so he can set up proper matches.
If a match wants to play with one some from the whites and others from the blues I know the formula to even the game.

The other suggestion is to purchase the course guide and remember those yardages are to the front of the green.

Also, the 'bugaboos' putting green is being renamed 'badlands'. It should drain very well because it will be built atop the rock spoils from the construction of the lodging units.

Is anyone playing Sagebrush but not going on to Marine Drive on Monday?

So far I have Kalen and Dale Jackson doing that.

Pete/Bob,

I'm interested in staying at Quinchela Friday and Saturday night.  I've been told I have a "healthy" snore, so prolly best to be in one of the single rooms.

Thanks,

Kalen

The pictures of the changes to the architectue of the 2d and 7th holes at Sagebrush are now posted at the end of the Sagebrush Experience thread.

For those of you on the extension to Victoria, ferries leave the Vancouver terminal at two hour intervals (3 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm, 9pm).
Cars are about $50. Drivers and passengers are an additional $15ish, each.

Since gas prices are higher in Canada, be sure and fill up on the US side before crossing. Cheapest I've seen is an Arco in Lynden (north on WA539 (Meridian Rd) at exit 256A at Bellingham.

Its getting pretty close to KP now.

I'm looking to play Tobianno on Friday.  I'll probably be looking to tee off between 10 and 11AM.  If anyone else is interested, please let me know as I'll be calling to make a tee time this weekend.

Thanks,

Kalen

I'm picking up Pete Lavallee at the airport and heading up Friday.  I am thinking about 9 at Hope Golf Club.  Nothing spectacular, just something fun and easy to break up the day.

I'll post an update with the timing in case anyone from Seattle or Vancouver wants to join in.

One more update I have Kalen, Dale and Ryan Smith not doing Marine Drive.  Is that it?
