Can you make any other type of pledge- i.e. $5 per birdie or score in relation to par etc.?

Thanks, Howard. You forgot, die like a champion. ;D

Don't even think it. The closest trauma center is in North Platte.

Jud,

We won't be able to build that level of customization into the site, but one of things I'm having built is a comment field that goes along with the pledge, so somebody can use that to say something as simple as 'Good Luck - Jud' to 'I'll give you $5/birdie as a bonus - Jud'. It'll be up to you at the time of fulfillment to make the necessary adjustment.

The bonuses were a big part of the fun and motivation of the Ben Cox event. Obviously it's challenging to account for all of the possibilities, but this should be workable for now.

Jim,

I've heard people say that walking Dismal is a suicide mission. Are you concerned about your liability in promoting Eric in this folly? Have you met Eric?  You may want to get a release.

John,

Please pledge and pledge often. This mission couldn't be more up my alley.

I did ask him straight up if he could do it. He seemed confident. Never met the man.

Wisconsin Golfer magazine is eager to do a write-up on a HHH event in their state. Any takers?

I'm planning on joining in on the HHH and located in Wake Forest, NC.

I'm currently trying to find a good course that is somewhat local (within 2-3 hours would be fine).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good walking course that stands out as being a nice fit? My home course is Hasentree and it's just not ideal due to the long distances between quite a few holes.

Dormie Club was the first that came to mind - but I can't seem to get them to say "yes" (although they haven't said no either).

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Has it been considered to have a team approach as a relay-of-sorts? Maybe teams of two playing 54 holes each - or teams of three playing 36 holes each?

Facebook poll: What is the most holes of golf you've ever walked in a day?

54 has the early lead.

I tried to take the Facebook poll, but there was no option for 156 holes...

Ben, Southern Pines would be my recommendation.  It's very walkable.

I am really excited to be participating. Every time I have told my friends about this event they stare at me blankly. There is something about walking 100+ holes that doesn't compute in the normal human brain. For once I am glad not to be normal.

WANTED:

- Ben seeks a NC Carolina course

- Jim seeks a Georgia hiker

- Sven and I seek a few caddies and motivators for our hike at Flossmoor.  A great opportunity to spend time with your fellow GCAers? Training for the Kingsley team from Chicago?  Study session on the architecture of Golfweek's #143 classic course?

To borrow Sven's HHH blog post (http://hundredholehike.com/blogs/help-wanted-caddies-and-motivators):

----

Position:  Assisting the hiring hiker in navigating the 18 holes of Flossmoor Country Club 6 times over in a day. The ability to carry a golf bag, locate errant shots and provide a bit of encouragement are a must.

Hours:  This is a one day position for Monday, June 18, 2012. Shifts available between sunrise and sunset.

Pay:  Other than the good vibes inherent in assisting in a charitable effort, the caddy will be paid in gatorade and protein bars.

I will be caddying for Jeff Tang at Flossmoor, assuming I can get him to carry less than 14 clubs.

Congrats Jim.  Sounds like this is going to be a big success.

I am still talking to my club about it.  Hope to join the group, but want to make sure I can walk all 100 holes.  Sounds easy, but I remember how tired I got at 54 and that is only half way.

I'm participating and I'm not sure it computes in my brain.  I walked 36 last weekend and it's a little crazy to think I was only a third of the way through.  Though I suppose I'll have maybe half the clubs in my bag.  Something tells me I'm going to be playing up the left side of the first hole at Kingsley the last three or four times through.

For those who may know of such things- What's the walking with a caddy rough equivilent of walking and carrying?

I think you burn about 25-30% more calories carrying than walking with a caddy..Might want to consider dropping the Heavy Putter... ;)
