Gingerbread Bunkers

Forgive my ignorance, but Jeff Brauer mentioned gingerbread bunkers in an old thread I was reading. 

What's a gingerbread bunker?

I think if you look at aerials of the George Fazio Course at Palmetto Dunes you'll see gingerbread men, women, cats and dogs scattered all over the place!

Yes, I think I was referring to lacy eged bunkers as the Gingerbread bunkers.  Not sure where I heard the term.  As noted above, they aren't shaped like Gingerbread cookies at all! 

That said, the lacey edges were initially a reaction (in part) to the "Boobs and Butts" bunkers from the 60-90's.  Funny, but so many architects are using them now that they are now almost as much of a cookie cutter format as what they replaced, no?

Ah yes, the ego of art.  It's sort of like the life cycle of clothing for hipsters.
