Have to say I am not a Bubba fan per se but I had tears in my eyes watching what transpired

Agree with that, too. I wanted Oostie to win if for no other reason than his Albatross would have become truly historic. But Bubba was deserving. And his post-tournament quote was a classic.

How about long-time friend Schwartzel putting the green jacket on his compatriot?

I knew Bubba was going to be emotional when he won, but I enjoyed the heck out of watching him play. He's crazy long, but he's got so much game. He seemed much more focused down the stretch, very much in win-mode instead of wild-eyed.

A good summary of his day/week: http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/pga/news?slug=dw-wetzel_bubba_watson_wins_masters_040812 52 degree wedge from 160? WHAT?

Off the pine straw. And...

“Hooked it about 40 yards,” he said. “Hit it about 15 feet off the ground until it got under the tree and then started rising.”

Gotta be the first quote any writer uses in his game story. Good on him. Great theater.

Great line, but was it not a paraphrase of another winner at Augusta a few years back?

"I always dreamt of winning, but in my dreams I never made it as far as the jacket ceremony." Something like that.

Was it Immelman?

Didn't Tiger say something like it when he won his first?
