Good Friday at the Jersey Shore
« on: April 03, 2012, 11:54:51 AM »
All,

I will be playing on Good Friday, 10am-I am considering doing 36 in Monmouth County, Suneagles (AWT) at 10am and Hominy Hill (RTJ) in the afternoon.  Sunset is about 7:30, so there should be enough time if we move quickly.

Suneagles is right off the Parkway, exit 105; Hominy Hill is about 8 miles directly west on Rt. 537.

If anybody is local or would like to play, please PM me.  It should be a good day.

I think so DT.

Here is a not too long ago article on Suneagles:

Joe -

Thanks for the article. I grew up in Long Branch, NJ, as my father worked at Ft. Monmouth for 34 years.
There was talk of Old Orchard closing 3-4 years ago to be developed for housing, but I assume the course is still open for business.

David,

Yes, my understanding is operating as semi-private.

Doug (and anyone else),

Any interest in playing Saturday?  Schuylkill?  Elsewhere?

Looks like Schuylkill CC (Park Jr. 1921, Ross 1944) may be a good option for Saturday.  If anyone wants in, let me know via replying to the thread or sending me a PM.

Dear Mark,

Could be interested.

Sincerely,

P.S.  How's the latest chapter coming along?

Last minute bump.  Tee time is 10:10 at Suneagles (AWT, 1926).  Text me 732-991-0393.

Optional walk-up round at Hominy Hill (RTJ, 1965) afterwards

Have fun. Take pics if you can. Look forward to the writeup.

Mark, I'd love to, but real life happens sometimes - They're delivering a new oven, and I need to be here.  Oh!  The humanity! :)

Good news brought back from today, more information later. There is some really unique architecture here, styles of bunkering that we normally don't see from Tillinghast.  It's good stuff.  Pictures and commentary are coming.
